Becoming an International Mountain Leader

The UIMLA is validating that every country member association has training and assessments that are in line with the common platform (Worldwide standards). As such the UIMLA does not provide any training in order to become an International Mountain Leader.

As such, full member country associations have their training and assessment been validated and any individual becoming mountain leader through the official training program, is automatically recognized as an International Mountain Leader.

Therefore, for the ones aiming to become an International Mountain Leader, it is advised to get in touch with their country national association.

Residential of non-member countries might seek to be trained in one of the member country.

The costs and duration of the training program might vary from one country to another, but usually, an elapsed time of 2-3 years for the training is the norm.
