Becoming an International Mountain Leader

UIMLA is validating that every country member association has training and assessments that are in line with the UIMLA common platform. As such the UIMLA does not provide any training in order to become an International Mountain Leader.

All full member country associations have their training and assessment been validated and any individual becoming mountain leader through the official training program and meeting the membership criteria, is automatically recognized as an International Mountain Leader.

If you would like to become an International Mountain Leader, it is advised to get in touch with your country national association.

Residential of non-member countries might seek to be trained in another member country.

The costs and duration of the training program might vary from one country to another, but usually, an elapsed time of 2–3 years for the training is the norm.
